The Battle Against AI-Driven Identity Fraud: Key Insights from European Financial Institutions
AI-driven identity fraud ranks amongst the fastest-growing security threats today. In the past three years alone, fraud attempts have surged 80%, using AI in particular to devise intricate schemes that are becoming undeniably hard to trace and stop.
Pinar Alpay will present findings during this talk, from the latest comprehensive study by Signicat into the impact of AI-driven identity fraud on European financial institutions. The study, conducted with support from Consult Hyperion, draws on the insights of more than 1,200 fraud decision makers across Europe. The talk will cover emerging trends, such as the rise of deepfakes, increasing sophistication of synthetic identities, and resource constraints and preparedness that organizations face in fighting AI-enabled attacks.
With deepfakes now comprising 6.5% of all fraud attempts - an increase of 2137% in just three years - this session will provide concrete guidance on how financial institutions can stay ahead of these emerging threats.
