Dr. Ýmir Vigfússon grew up as a hacker, and now seeks to make amends. He is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Emory University in Atlanta, and the co-founder of three cybersecurity companies: Syndis, Adversary, and KeyStrike. At Emory, his award-winning research spans distributed systems, network science, and computational epidemiology. Ýmir holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Iceland. In his non-existent free time, he enjoys flying, playing the piano, and ballroom dancing.
